Catalog Operations

Catalog / Content Operations

Keep platform listings accurate and consistently classified through careful taxonomy work, spreadsheet analysis, and repeatable quality checks.

Bengaluru / Patna

The role

Catalog / Content Operations protects the quality and usefulness of information shown on the platform. You will review structured listing data and descriptive content, apply category rules consistently, find errors and duplicates, and improve the way quality is checked. This is an operations role that requires content judgement and data discipline; it is not simply a creative writing position.

What you will do

  • Review and maintain product, service, or digital-content listings for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal content rules.
  • Classify listings using the approved taxonomy. Apply category definitions consistently and flag cases where the taxonomy itself is missing, overlapping, or unclear.
  • Identify duplicate records, incorrect categories, inconsistent attributes, malformed titles, missing fields, misleading descriptions, and other quality issues.
  • Use spreadsheets to clean, compare, reconcile, validate, and analyse catalog data. Keep edits traceable and avoid undocumented bulk changes.
  • Apply content judgement to determine whether a title, description, image, or attribute accurately represents the listing and gives users enough information to make a decision.
  • Run repeatable quality checks and maintain clear rules, checklists, exception notes, and review records.
  • Measure basic catalog quality indicators, identify recurring error patterns, and recommend targeted corrections or process changes.
  • Coordinate with partner operations, support, and product teams to resolve missing or conflicting information and improve the quality of data entering the platform.

What you need

These are the core capabilities for this role, not a wishlist of unrelated skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to notice small inconsistencies across large sets of records.
  • Understanding of taxonomy and categorisation: you can apply defined category rules, recognise edge cases, and explain why a record belongs in one category rather than another.
  • Fluency with spreadsheets such as Excel or Google Sheets, including sorting, filtering, validation, lookups, and common formulas.
  • Basic data analysis skills, including counting errors, comparing groups, spotting patterns, and checking whether a change improved quality.
  • Sound content judgement and an ability to distinguish clear, accurate listing information from vague, duplicated, misleading, or incomplete content.
  • Consistency when applying rules. You do not change standards from one item to the next based on personal preference.
  • Careful documentation and the discipline to ask for clarification when rules conflict instead of silently inventing a new rule.

Helpful, but not essential

  • Experience in catalog operations, product information management, marketplace listing quality, taxonomy, data entry quality assurance, or content moderation.
  • Experience cleaning messy spreadsheets or reviewing structured data at scale.
  • Comfort writing short operational guidelines and documenting edge cases for consistent team decisions.

How to apply
